      Applied through LinkedIn and had a 30min call with the recruiter about general work history and current role. Sent me a tech challenge with a purposely vague user story and some api docs, creds and a reminder not to spend too much time on the project. Immediately looked at their api to plan my data fetching in the app and noticed that there was no current/future data and no way to link a teacher to their classes. I sent 4-6 emails to the recruiter explaining that the data wasn’t there to complete the exercise and finally asked if the devs could provide a working request. The dev request worked but using a parameter not listed on their api docs (great job guys). So after days of faffing around I can crack on and finish this tech challenge (which I shouldn’t spend too much time on). Smashed out the app and wrote some tests. Thinking that I’ve given a decent effort but purposefully left some things to discuss in the next stage. Couple of days later recruiter calls saying sorry not going to progress with you, it was really competitive and that the devs will try and give you some feedback but I’m on holidays next week sorry bye. Week later no feedback but might’ve dodged a bullet going off my experience. Thanks BeyondCo you’re just like the rest of them. Terrible!

      Thank you for sharing your feedback on our interview process. We genuinely appreciate your input, as it helps us improve and refine our approach. We understand the challenges you faced with the tech test. To clarify, during our initial conversation, we did mention that the relevant data would not be available at the time and provided context as to why. We also provided some guidance to help navigate this as a head start. The context of the campaign was shared to give you a sense of the competitive nature of the role. We had over 260 applicants, with a handful of candidates, including yourself, invited to complete the tech test. While others did not encounter the same difficulties, we understand each situation is unique, and we made the decision to move forward with other candidates based on those circumstances. If you have any further thoughts or would like to discuss this in more detail, we’d be happy to connect again.
