Interviewed for Trading Assistant in BNP Paribas Portugal. We went over my CV. Then they asked whether I knew the what the position meant. We spoke a little in English. They asked three of my weaknesses. In the end you make a logic test (like many people crossing a bridge that only takes two at the same time, or the ones you need to design a double-entry table to solve), and a finance test (besides basic knowledge of how derivatives work and the greek letters and formulas used in finance, what is an EFT, you are also expected to know current financial market stuff, like euro to dollar conversion ration, eurostoxxx current value, etc.). I wasn't given the job because I didn't want to give them a value for expected salary, and in the end gave in and said I expected a payment which later I found out was above their limit. Only later I asked a HR company and was informed BNP Paribas would only pay a maximum of 1200 euros + benefits. Be careful with this very sensitive topic. The following phase would have been a VBA test and a personal interview with the team leader.

To my surprise all over the phone. Short sweet and to the point. Not a hard process or hard questions. Nice to talk to all different types of members of the team, even the other trade assistants. Just seemed like everyone was too busy to interview.
