Top 5 in worst interviews I've ever had. Their job postings are very misleading and they should be blunt about the type of people they want to hire. The hiring manager that I spoke with blatantly asked me where I was born, and I replied with "Is this for HR purposes or something else? I'm a US Citizen if that's what you're inquiring about" Instead, she goes into the rant about "it's not so much about your passport but people of Decent X born in country Y aren't the best " She followed this up with "Why did you not want to be brought up in country Y?" Like WHOAAAAAA, Talk about profiling and borderline prejudice. Also...... I can't choose where I'm brought up, I was a young child, I was with family. She then spent the next 30 minutes talking about why being raised in country Y was a better asset for her and why I should have been raised in country Y instead of country X. I attempted to bring the interview back to the focus point, the job and my potential joining but by the end of her rant, the interview session was over. I gave feedback about this negative experience and one of bill.com's HR POC's replied with "it's just not a fit". Why? There was no discussion about the role nor my filling it AND I was judged purely on my ethnic background and place of birth/where I was raised. I hope these individuals find some humanity to learn from.
