BECU does their initial technical interview(s) through Karat. If you've not experienced Karat, it's hit-and-miss. One thing is certain though; Karat does not give you enough time to complete all the questions and problems to solve. The only positive experience with Karat is that they give you a no-questions-asked 2nd interview. I was very excited at the prospect of working for BECU. I'm a great engineer, but the reality is I suck at on-the-spot, short-timeframe problem-solving. Virtually everything else I excel at. It's taken years, but I worked my way up to an SSE at my current company, I solve many problems, but I've never in my entire career been put into a situation where I need to solve complex, often math-intensive problems within 30 minutes. The way this industry has adopted the leetcode, hackerrank-like interviewing is an absolute travesty and it excludes some incredible people.
