      I had 3 coding interviews with Atlassian. After the 3rd interview and sacrificing over 2 months of my time I had a hire decision at P30 but they only had roles at P40 available. A short while later I was contacted on LinkedIn by another Atlassian recruiter and asked if I'd be interested in another role. I indicated that I would be interested, but no response. Had to follow up a few times before the recruiter scheduled a phone call. The recruiter didn't make the call at the scheduled time. I followed up: recruiter claims that she called but I didn't answer (there was no missed call on my mobile, so obviously that wasn't true). I gave her the benefit of the doubt and rescheduled. She let me know at the last moment that she can't make the call and have to reschedule. I made time in my schedule for the call, made special arrangements etc.. She didn't call. Atlassian, I have 15 years experience as a software engineer, yet the requirements on me to join your company are so tough. Why do your recruiters not live up to the same standard? How do a person like that get hired, but a software engineer with extensive experience is treated with such disregard? Atlassian may sound good on paper, but they have zero respect for candidates time.

      A lengthy and long interview process that include 6 steps. First step is a simple phone screening which I am not even sure why it needed. Second step is an outsource coding challenge using a substandard web browser based coding platform. That code screening is scheduled for an hour, but only 30 minutes is available to code, the other 30 minutes is a series of random technical questions. It appears they look for completing the random non real world coding challenge instead of approach. It a pass/fail system. Next are two technical interviews, followed by a manger interview, and then a values interview. Atlassian was unable and/or unwilling to give any rationale for their decisions. This is the second time I applied for Atlassian first time was rejected after the second technical interview. This time didn't even get passed their third party coding interview. In both cases they elect to not inform as their reasoning. They currently have over 200+ job postings for software engineering. I have no idea what their expectations are or if they are just shell positions.

      I can clearly understand why Atlassian's ratings have gone down in recent years. It starts right from their recruitment. Overall, I had a negative impression. The first round was outsourced to 3rd party Karat then a code design round, which was routed to the development team in India. Although I applied for a position in Europe. The interviewer from the code design round could not understand the thought process I was trying to explain, which drove me to a complicated solution from an easy one. The team in Europe conducted the second round; they were pretty good at understanding and explaining the problem, unlike the first round. Finally, when I received the email about rejection, I expected some feedback to improve and learn from my mistakes. However, the email did not include any feedback, so I had to ask them explicitly. Transparency in the interview process, especially in providing feedback, is crucial for building trust and confidence in potential job applicants. I was surprised to receive false feedback regarding the code design round, which was discouraging without mentioning any detailed explanation. However, I agree with the input for the second round (more details would still be helpful). I have been reading other reviews about management issues and other pitfalls, and given this recent interview experience, I would not recommend Atlassian as a good place to work. Atlassian should focus more on team-specific hiring requirements and assign the right person for technical interviews.

      Starts with a screening interview with a third party. Then up to six interviews with Atlassian. Recruiter gave tips before each interview. They have very specific checklist for each stage.
