      Entrevista

Got a call from a recruiter who didn’t sound like she was calling from a professional setting at all — casual tone, zero structure, felt more like a friend calling about a favor than an actual recruiter screening for a serious role. The most “difficult” question she asked was how much salary I was expecting. I gave her my number, and she immediately hit me with what they were offering — about 20% below my absolute minimum. She asked if I’d be open to it because “there’s potential to make commissions.” In this market? I said yes to a number I wouldn’t have even glanced at twice before, just to keep the door open. Next up was an interview with their sales director — an older woman, solid conversation, but again, for a position way beneath my level. She mentioned they were hiring three account executives and that she’d move me to the next step with the hiring manager. They weren’t planning to start until mid-May — six weeks away — which made me wonder if they were clearing out a chunk of their team, replacing people about to be fired, or just panic-stacking the bench in case folks start quitting. Either way, the whole thing had that “just in case” energy. Then came radio silence. Two weeks later, I got a generic one-line rejection email. No feedback. No explanation. Bottom line: it felt like I interviewed for a backup role they weren’t even sure they needed — and if I’d seen the salary or job description upfront, I wouldn’t have even bothered clicking “apply.” Next time, just let me know if you’re hiring replacements or just collecting resumes for a rainy day.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience — we truly value your feedback. We’re sorry to hear that your interaction with our recruiting process didn’t meet expectations. It’s clear that we missed the mark in both our communication and candidate experience. We appreciate your honesty about how the process felt from your perspective — especially around the informality of the initial outreach, the lack of clarity on compensation and role level, and the follow-up cadence. We’re actively working with our recruiting team to ensure greater transparency and professionalism from the first conversation forward. Every candidate deserves to know what to expect, and we understand how frustrating it can be when the process feels uncertain or incomplete. While we’re continually hiring for growth, not just replacements, we recognize that timelines and role clarity must be communicated more clearly to avoid giving the impression of disorganization or “just in case” hiring. We’re also reviewing how and when we communicate updates to candidates to ensure timely, respectful closure. Thank you again for your candid feedback — it helps us do better.

Disappointing interview process and result. Went through two rounds for a sales position-- the first one was great. Interviewer was friendly, alignment around skill set, goals, process, and vision for growth were all there and I was excited to take next steps. In my second round interview, my excitement for the position was met by a hiring manager who was overtly skeptical about my skills and experience from the onset. I found it especially strange when the interviewer told me "Wow, you flipped it on me and you really didn't answer my question," after I had definitely answered her question with a meaningful response. It went downhill from there as I could sense she was somewhat disinterested in me as a candidate, but I couldn't tell you why. I did get the sense that this hiring manager was looking down her nose at me, though, and that really killed the quality of the conversation. I was told next steps would come by way of a mock sales demo and I'd hear back from them about a week later to set that up. Then radio silence. They didn't even send an email to formally reject or thank me for my time and give me some insight into why they decided not to proceed. Probably dodged a bullet with this one.
