There was an online posting for a 'Machine Learning Residency Program' which also encouraged applicants who did not come from a CS background. I applied and waited for a while (a month) perhaps, and we eventually emailed a coding interview at HackerRank.com. It was difficult and was algorithm specific, instead of machine learning oriented.

Three interviews. One interview asked about concept about machine learning and deep learning and exchanged idea on a machine learning problem that the interviewer gave. One resume/project. One coding. No leetcode questions asked. The entire process was pretty friendly.
