      I was really disappointed with the interview process and the level of communication from the Anthropic team. First, I applied for two roles: a "Lead" and a "Specialist" position. For the Lead role (which I applied to first), I had an initial screening with a recruiter and progressed to a call with hiring manager. Both interviews went great from my perspective and the questions were relatively easy. Mostly logistical questions (e.g., when can you start, do you have this experience), but not too challenging. After the hiring manager interview, I waited a month to hear about next steps, which was a rejection. Anthropic sent a canned email response that says that they will not provide individual feedback on a candidate. I understood, and moved on. I did reach out to the hiring manager and recruiter to thank them for their time and consideration, and said I was interested in other opportunities for the same team. After getting rejected, I saw a more junior role open up (I saw the role myself) and applied. Coincidentally, this Specialist role reported to the Lead role. I applied and was confident that I'd land the recruiter screening given I made it to this point for the Lead role. To my surprise, I was rejected. I reached out to the recruiter that I was previously in touch with to seek feedback and understand why I was not considered for the Specialist role, given that I was qualified for the Lead role. I have not heard back for 2 weeks, so I assume that I won't be receiving a response. I know that Anthropic is growing a lot given the latest funding round, but if this speaks to the culture of how Anthropic treats people, I'm glad that I didn't progress. I think companies should treat us as humans in the recruiting process. We are spending a lot of time and effort in what can be a vulnerable process, and the lack of communication is a disservice to the people that would potentially join the company.
