I applied for the GMT program in Leuven, BE, at the start of 2021. Therefore, COVID measures were in place, and the procedure took place online. The procedure consisted of 6 rounds. I was ultimately invited to the final round table, but all spots had been filled before my interview.
The first two rounds were online tests aimed at assessing cultural fit and personality: you were asked to select personal values and characteristics. Additionally, a game was used to assess your risk taking propensities. I was notified automatically that I passed.
The next round was a timed case with relation to the products of the company (some people had an interview in between). In one hour, you had to propose a new product for the global market. This included e.g. segmentation, targeting, positioning, and a commercial plan. I had to present this in three minutes. The result was communicated within 4 weeks.
The next round was the ABI days, during which groups of +- 25 candidates were present. The day provided some background information on ABI and beer brewing. Everyone was scheduled for a 1 on 1 interview. To end the day, the candidates were divided for a team assignment. This was a market simulation game. During the team moments, two HR reps were present to assess the candidates' qualities within teams. I received a phone call within two days to inform me I would be invited to the final round table with several high ranking managers.
Unfortunately, I received an email that all available spots had been filled before my final round was scheduled.
Generally speaking, I enjoyed the procedure very much. The cases were relevant for the industry, and nicely challenging. However, the fact that I did not get a chance at the final round table leaves a bitter aftertaste.
