Entrevista
I received a phone call from a lady who said they saw my resume online and wanted me to come in for an interview. I specifically asked if the position involved life insurance sales and she stated it was NOT a sales position, but a position that would involve responding to customers (union members) with questions about their benefits. I agreed to an interview the following morning. When I arrived at the "interview" site, there were many people present in the waiting room for the "cattle call". There were several "managers" who individually called us for a brief "interview" prior to a group presentation during which the speaker stressed that someone could have a 6-figure income from this job if they were willing to work hard. We also were required to complete a questionnaire and we were advised we would receive a phone call that afternoon if we were chosen for a "final interview". I did receive a phone call that afternoon to come in for a "final interview" the following day where I would be required to commit to accepting the position and providing the money for the fee required for an insurance license, if I were offered the position. After scheduling the interview, I did some online research and read some employee and customer reviews and decided the presentation did not give an accurate picture of the job/company, so I decided I did not want to pursue employment with AIL and I called and cancelled my "final interview". Technically, I did not receive an offer for the job, but I believe I probably would have if I had shown up for the "final interview" since I was told I would need to be ready to accept the position on the spot. It was explained during the presentation that this really was a life insurance sales position, so the person who contacted me to schedule the "interview" was not truthful when I asked if it was a sales position. I do not know why she did not honestly answer that question, as I would not have agreed to the interview if I had known it was a life insurance sales position, so I was not happy with the dishonesty.

I was most surprised by the initial interviewer's shock that I came prepared with a cover letter in addition to my resume, and that he expressed how impressed he was with it. Other than reviewing my resume and cover letter, he did not ask many questions.

There was a filter interview at first, then there was a real group interview, and then after that there was a final interview at which they decide if you make the fit and then decide wether or not to hire you.

It was easy. Mostly behavioural questions. It was went for about 1 hour. Some common questions were Tell me more about yourself, about your previous job, what drives you towards AIL.

I’ve only started with the beginning stages of the interview process, but so far I am extremely enthused. They are very informative, as well as provide lots of opportunity for growth in the company.
