Me postulé a través de una recomendación de un empleado. El proceso tomó 2 meses. Acudí a una entrevista en American Express (Phoenix, AZ) en mar 2019
Entrevista
I was referred to the team's manager and the team contacted me directly. I had a 1-hour technical phone interview and then a half-a-day onsite interview. I got the offer two days after and I accepted a few days later. The process of extending the offer was very disorganized, I was contacted by different people in the HR, the documents had mistakes, and they were very slow in responding to my questions. After a month, they finally added me to the internal HR system and that was when the actual hassle started. It took them another month to figure out that I needed an export license for this position and AMEX does not support this process. So they called me and withdrew their offer in cold blood. They basically wasted two months of my time, made me lose my opportunity with other companies, caused me to stay a semester more in PhD (it was too late to get a job in summer when they let me know of the situation), and caused me to lose my funding for the last semester of my PhD.

It was a fair and structured interview, focusing on SQL, ML fundamentals (boosting, imbalance), and business cases like fraud detection. They prioritize logical thinking through puzzles and guesstimates over complex coding.
