I had 2 telephone interviews which were competency based, both lasting for approximately 45 minutes. The first was with the hiring manager, and second was with the current post holder. The interview was relaxed and friendly. The questions were probing for specific examples to determine cultural fit to Amazon's Leadership Principles. Therefore the answers need to be clearly structured using the STAR method and go into enough detail to demonstrate both competency for the role and cultural fit to the organisation. The third stage was an onsite interview to be held in Seattle, however, after agreeing dates for the onsite interview and booking flights / hotels, the interview was cancelled at very short notice, due to Visa issues. I was left for 3 months "on-hold" until the visa application process could re-start, and confirmed by email that my application was still under consideration by the recruitment team. However, my application was terminated without any further explanation, meaning I never got to the onsite interview process.
Poor customer service from Amazon on this occasion!!

Very positive experience. The down side was there were 6 rounds of interviews in total but they were scheduled close together. Communication was excellent and a huge amount of helpful resources provided to you to help you prepare.
Phone interview. Asked 4 typical question. The Amazon phone interview was structured and focused on behavioral questions using the STAR method. The interviewer was professional, asking about leadership principles, past challenges, and decision-making. It felt fast-paced yet conversational. I shared clear examples from my experience, highlighted results, and ended confident I demonstrated impact and fit.

It was a long but a well designed one. There are tips online that one should go over before the interview process. It can take more than one month to complete the steps, so one should be patient while taking all the tests and other stuff.
