Me postulé a través de otra fuente. El proceso tomó 3 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Amazon (Seattle, WA) en dic 2014
Entrevista
Was pretty intense and tiring although I expected it to be like that. Passed through several phone interviews. Last interview was in person. They flew me to Seattle and paid for everything including pretty expensive hotel. I was given an option to stay for extra couple of days to get familiar with Seattle on Amazon's expense. Interview started from 10:30 AM and finished by 5 PM with 1 hour lunch brake. I had 7-8 individual interviews during that day. I talked to both groups of 2-4 people as well as individuals. Some of people we silent listeners, some of them actively participated in the interview process. Everybody was taking a lot of notes. I was asked sometimes the same question several times. I guess, it is difficult to sync between teams or they probed me whether I'll give them different answers? Got a lot of questions about people management, soft management skills. One of the interviews was completely dedicated to architecture so I needed to come up with high-level design of future Amazon sub-system. I think interview process was professional. I used lunch as a opportunity to talk to one of the Amazon employees and it was very helpful: I learned a lot about company itself (wasn't the person who interviewed me).
Got a call from recruiter 4 days later that they are not ready to give me an offer. However they encouraged to try other positions in the company in half a year.

What do I do to grow "star" employees even further?
Phone screen, 5 1 hour interviews for loop
Each hour was dedicated to 2 LPs. System design was more collaborative than i anticipated which was a pleasant surprise. The phone screen mostly focused on my previous experiences

The interview process is straightforward but intense.
First interview was with another Software Dev Manager in the same team. After that the famous loop interview where I had to take 5 interviews in a row over two days ( using paid holidays at work ). Recruiter gave a lot of information about possible questions and helped with materials. However, I had to use same stories few times as the different interviewers asked same questions few times.
Everything is okay, I had a good time during the interviews and it was a good exercise. However, I simply do not understand why they have to call to reject? I am not a customer to be obsessed with. A straight cut rejection via email works better than taking time out of my busy schedule.
If they used this time to share some feedback, that would be useful. If they do not share any reason why I have to continue formal small talk just to get the rejection on my face?

A time you were driving toward a goal and realized more than halfway in that it may not be the best goal.
Had 1 round of System design interview. I thought the interview went ok, if not bad, it went decently well. Received a rejection response, while asking to apply 6 months later.
