Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 5 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Amazon (Seattle, WA) en nov 2021
Entrevista
Interviewed with Recruiter earlier in the month. Took assessment which I passed.
She asked me a few more technical questions then sent me to on-sites. Studied the questions posted here on Glassdoor as well as the information the recruiter sent me. I was in the Linux focus.
Went to the prep interview the week before and heard about what Amazon was expecting to hear about during my interview. Studied for a long time this entire week. Had flashcards and had my girlfriend mock interview me with questions from Glassdoor and the content the recruiter sent me.
Went ahead and spent the entire day in an interview loop. None of the questions mentioned here were asked. They went entirely into hypothetical troubleshooting situations, and asked about things that were very specific.
First was behavioral which I think I did pretty well. Interviewer really was a nice dude and put me at ease as I was extremely nervous.
Second was Linux. Troubleshooting a slow LAMP server was definitely a hot one. So brush up on how Nginx works. It says “preferred in the job listing ” but apparently preferred = required at Amazon. Most of my Linux experience is supporting backend applications that don’t use a website for their front end interface, so I didn’t do well with this one. Interviewer was super cool though and a nice guy.
My bar raiser was the networking interview. Which isn’t my strong suit. I didn’t do great here, and honestly I thought the interviewer was pretty rude/cocky in this one. The calm experience I had in the previous two interviews was out the door and I was back to being nervous and unable to think. Again, really situational questions and was really really heavy technically on the networking side of things for being a job supporting Linux. This interview left a bad taste in my mouth.
Last was with hiring manager. Was nice enough guy and all behavioral.
Waited exactly 5 days and got a call saying they wouldn’t be moving forward. Which also felt really impersonal.
My advice to Amazon is stop wasting time with an entire day of on-sites. Interviewing with 6 different people is a waste of time for the candidate and you as a company. You should know weather a person is technically fit/behaviorally fit within the first few interviews. I wouldve rather them stopped me and told me Mid interview that I wasn’t meeting the bar rather than wasting my entire day. I won’t be applying or interviewing for Amazon again because of how much time I spent on this process for an entry level position.
The interview was smooth. Recruiter reached out with an invitation to an online assessment, then a phone interview 1 hour and interview loop scheduled after that. It had 4 rounds

Depends on the domain of the role. I had Networking domain, so most questions were on Linux and troubleshooting.
It was difficult , questions about os and computer network and one easy coding question , the coding question was prime number question, also asked behavioural questions which are to be answered in STAR format

There were 4 interview phases. The first one was personality based and generic, the following were all technical with different individuals. It was a standard interview but I’d say you get brownie points for knowing their leadership principles.
