I was contacted within 2 days after submitting my application on the website. I was asked a few questions over email regarding my experience with Cisco, Linux and Windows Administration. Within a few days I was given a link to do an online interview with HireVue. I had to record my responses to the questions, and you only get one take, you cant re-record. You have 30 seconds to prepare your answer. Trust me, that is NOT enough time to google the answer if you don't know it or cant remember. I was more nervous doing this than an in person interview. I read a few tips online and one said to tape a post-it above my webcam with a smiley face to help you focus on the camera, it helped a bit. However I found it very difficult and off-putting. On the surface it seems like a cool, high tech idea but it's really impersonal.

What are some Linux Directories and their uses. Describe everything you know about the DHCP process. Group Policy fails on a client, how would you troubleshoot this. Describe your most technically challenging issue and how you solved it. What is the difference between a switch and a router. Name some TCP and UDP ports/uses. What is the OSI model and why is it used.

They ask a lot of technical trivia questions that have nothing to do with the job. They like hearing stories about how you raised the bar and/or made your prior job better. Be familiar with the STAR method.

Panel interview with 4 people. One hour with each interviewer who will ask 2 to 4 questions based on leadership principles related to the job role you are applying for.
first starts with a phone screening.
then if they pass you on you would meet with three individuals for about an hour each. Some of them might be in the area you are applying others might just be a manager from a different ORG.
