Had a screening call with the recruiter- friendly, not overly warm but aligned to my expectations. Then a phone call with the hiring manager.
This is the part that was rather unpleasant.
I was already made aware of that person's reputation, but I didn't expect that much condescendence, arrogance, defiance and overall disrespect.
I was shocked and my appreciation of the company is slightly different after the very poor experience I had with this person: I would recommend they check in with some of their managers when they spot recurring issues (since this one manager was obviously known in the industry for being difficult) as it gives a poor, low EQ image to a company that prides itself on its relationship-building, connect-the-world values.
I was not interested in even going any further in the process and felt relief that it stopped...
