I really do not understand their intent. They have my resume and I had been to their office once a year ago. I have an extensive technical background. We seem to to be playing cat and mouse. The first thing they say when they contact me is they have several opportunities available. Si the next obvious question is what these opportunities are. But the recruiter plays this game of asking me what I am looking for or what I want to do. So I tell him and then repeat asking what opportunities are available that he is referring to. Which he never tells me. Now I am thinking this guy is just trying to fill is quota of cold calls for the day, the week or the month without any real lead for the job seeker. I don't know what kind of culture Aerotek promotes in their organization but I get this type of call from them every time. I finally added their number on my phone so if I ever get a call from them again I will not answer. They are just wasting my time.

They seem like they are genuinely interested in finding their clients a job, if for no other reason than the sooner you get hired, the sooner they can take their cut. I don't mean that in a negative way, but that is how they make their money. I spoke with their engineering specialist, who was friendly and knowledgable. She asked me what I was interested in doing, what sort of things motivated me, and wanted to know more about my research experience. She closed with some sample interview questions, and then gave feedback on my responses. Overall relatively helpful, though I haven't found a position as of two weeks after the initial interview.

Basic "get to know you" type of interview, unfortunately wasn't called back.
