I applied online and received a call and an email from the recruiter same day. I completed the initial phone interview with the recruiter about 3 days later. We then scheduled my interview with the hiring manager for the following week. The hiring manager did not show up to the scheduled interview.
I reached back out to the recruiter and she had no idea what was going on. The interview was rescheduled. For some reason the hiring manager didn’t log on for the rescheduled meeting either, and called me over the phone instead. This was off putting, as I’ve never not met a hiring manager face to face. This felt like a disadvantage. The interview was more conversation style and overall okay, but it felt very weird to do an hour long interview over the phone. I received an email from the recruiter about 5 days later saying the HM went with another candidate. I asked if there was any feedback from the HM, but the recruiter didn’t respond.
Overall, this was a disappointing experience and didn’t give the best impression of ADP. If the HM didn’t have time for an interview, didn’t want to interview me, or if lines of communication weren’t clear between him and the recruiter, I would’ve rather not had my time wasted. I was excited about applying for this role, but things were handled very unprofessionally.
