Ventajas
Great pay, knowledgeable expertise - scientists and engineers, project controls team is great, some great line managers that really care (ie: process, mechanical, ICT), access to global SMEs, nice office space.
Desventajas
- Work is going to their global offices overseas in India/Columbia and only a few clients are using local talent, so a P.Eng working in Calgary need to know that your hours will be halfed and you need to figure out how to manage this -Nice office, still in hybrid working mode but many people are coming in - swiping their card and going home. They are saying the hybrid model may end soon - They don't have tools in place to properly set up proposals based on deliverables - outdated and old school - as a PM is hard to set up your project controls and there is a huge gap - BD vs PMO -There is NO updated procedures or processes in place, if you really look under the hood - nothing is in place as their department managers don't seem to care and they have outdated tools -They don't have a proper PMO and are reactive to the "problem of the day" -No quality program set up -The time sheet system is a real mess and the PM doesn't approve anything and has to move hours after things are booked -The leaders are a bunch of "Old Boys" and they award friends and ex-Amec employee -NO FEMALES in technical leadership roles, any female that has an ounce of leadership ability seems to leave within 1-2years as the "old boys" leaders simply don't support them - they pretend too! - The Calgary leadership team doesn't respect women - let me know I was their TOKEN women and I was there to make my boss (at the time) look good (his words) he got promoted and I got put in a time out for letting HR know this -HR rep is great, but doesn't have power or influence to change things to make DEI matter. They reward bad behavior from their leaders. -Project Director cares more about his financial outlook and is counting the days to his retirement, and this is what my 1:1 session where mostly about.
