Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 5 días. Acudí a una entrevista en Unispec

      Entrevista

I submitted my resume and had a phone interview the following day. I was given a great deal of information about Unispec and the government client. Things moved very quickly. During the same phone call, my in-person interview was scheduled. I was sent benefits information for Unispec later that day and asked to do an eSkills assessment. I was also asked to modify my resume to touch on a couple of the administrative functions mentioned in the job announcement so that the program manager - who would be conducting the in-person interview - could see them on my resume, which I did. I did not receive any acknowledgement of receipt of the revised resume, and I found it strange. The day before the interview, I was told that the client was no longer hiring for the position. Literally, in the span of 5 days, a government agency went from hiring to not hiring for a position, Unispec had no idea the position was being canceled, and therefore continued to move forward with recruiting candidates? I do not believe this at all. Yes, the government does cancel jobs on USAJOBS and with contractors/consulting firms, but this situation seemed very odd. In the same email that I was told the client was no longer hiring, I was asked if I'd be interested in an Executive Assistant position. The job description was attached. Why would I be interested? Given my recent employment history and job function, it makes zero sense to try to recruit someone like me to be an EA. I had hoped I would not have the same experience as some of the others that have left comments about their interviews, but Unispec has a definite modus operandi when it comes to recruiting. I've been in DC a very long time and have never had an experience like this.

We apologize for the inconvenience of this interview process…..this candidate was very qualified for the PA position…. the client changed requirements during the interview process, and decided to not backfill the position (the government cancels jobs through contractors/consulting firms) which is out of our control…..we later assessed the candidate’s skills against the EA position, they aligned, and we offered …. Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused. Sincerely, Unispec
