      Entrevista

Interviewing for the People Graduate role at 2degrees was a really engaging, fun and creative process! It had a different feel to jobs that I have applied for before. Instead of being mundane process of just applying and going for a standard interview, I felt that the HR team at 2degrees moved away from that and thought outside of the box. Applying for the job online was a quick process that then moved on to a phone screening which was taken by a lovely lady Jen, who was friendly, encouraging and let me ask as many questions as I needed to. Thank you Jen!! The very next week I received a call to say that I had made it through to the next stage which was a quicker response than I was expecting. In this next stage I had to complete some online testing in Excel and basic Math, English and problem solving that took a good 45 mins to complete. Soon after I heard back from the Jen that I had made it through to the final stage – the assessment centre. I was told that 8 people had made it through and that I would be attending the assessment centre with 3 other people. At first, I thought it was weird that I would meet the others but on the actual day I was relived that I was. In between each stage of the assessment centre we would meet together and chat about our experience and encourage each other before heading to the next part. Good thinking 2degrees! The assessment centre was spilt into 3 parts; Interview, Presentation and Group activity. When we got there, we were greeted by each of our interviewers and given a bag of goodies (YAY!) to congratulate each of us for making this far in the process. Such a great and thoughtful way to start to the day! For the interview, I was surprised at how relaxed I felt talking to the interviewers, they were hilarious and friendly which definitely helped. They shared some of their own experiences about the questions they asked and seemed so interested in my answers. One of my favourite interviews ever! We were asked to do a short presentation, which was based on our own thoughts about the ‘Future of Work’ and what we believed it would look like. This was an ask that got us as the applicants to put what we had studied to good use. When it was my turn to present, my interviewers were engaged in what I was talking about and actually asked me questions that elaborated on what I was talking about. Again, I felt that they genuinely wanted to know what we thought, and we got to share it in such a fun way! The final part of the assessment centre was a group activity that the 3 other people and I got to do together. It was a scenario-based activity that was really interesting and again so out of the box. I guess this was used to see how we interacted with others and how we were able to work together as a team. What a cool way to be able to show our skills rather than just talk the talk! We wrapped up on a lovely note, with the interviewers thanking us and chatting to us some more before we left. I left with a smile and a new expectation for future interviews. I want to thank the 2degrees HR Team for making this experience a pleasant one. I have been through some bad and awkward interviews and this wasn’t one of them!
