The interview process involves a video peer interview, followed by a 4 hour interview in person. The video peer interview was an hour and involved two UX specialists within the organization. They asked typical HR questions along with questions centered around UX research not so much design or process. Once they find you appropriate for the organization you will be invited for a 3.5 to 4 hour in person interview. Prior to the interview you will receive an itinerary that schedules out your day. The first interview involves 3 members of the organization and you will be asked to participate in two timed workshops (Card sorting, white boarding) to display your UX capabilities. BTW they took a picture of my work and sent it to the director. In between meeting with multiple managers and team members you will have a bathroom break and possibly get offered a bottled water. The entire process is draining and time consuming. After awhile you will feel like a broken record because everyone will ask the same questions while taking notes and saying "uh huh, wow that's awesome!" By the time the process was over I was not sure if I would be the best fit for the location and the team. The office is dreary, with no windows, and people are sitting on top of one another. UX Mgt, it's probably not a good idea to describe your UX team as an army ready for a tour of duty. Coming from a military family, design vs putting your life on the line is not the same.
