Arrived on time for my interview. Asked for the manager, which happened to be the person I asked. Said he'd be with me in a minute. 10 minutes later he's still socializing with a couple guys who came in to see him. I continue to browse the store. I walk by him, he says " I'll be right with you", I said "take your time" (Having read all of the prior posts here I knew the game), he takes me to the back of the store, I hand him my resume. He flips through it without really reading anything on it. Asks me about past experience, current job, school, free time, hobbies, if I have ANYTHING planned in the future, family life...you know...wanting to basically know if I'll give up my life for the place. I happen o notice him look over my shoulder and I turn around to see a girl employee walking towards the back room, she looks at us with this smirk on her face...like LOL SHE REALLY THINKS SHE'LL WORK HERE? Anyway, he proceeds to tell me that I'll get an e-mail from him within 24-48 hours if I got the job, a 2nd interview or not and as he said...and I quote" I don't leave people hanging". Well, it's been over that time, nothing from him. I actually didn't expect to get the job because I am 48 yrs old, although I look like I'm in my 30's according to everyone who tries to guess my age LOL Anyway, I wore their clothes in to the interview, talked about some of my favorite brands, why I'd be great for them, my past customer loyalty, and why I am more than capable of this position. He asked me if he didn't feel I was right for this job would I consider a part time or full time sales position. I said full time possible by I am looking for a management position and am putting my resume in at other places as well. I honestly know the reason I didn't get an e-mail was because of my age. Discrimination at it's best. Although, after reading so many other interviews I have to believe this isn't a place I would enjoy working anyway. A blessing in disguise!
