I got a call with no caller one Wednesday evening in November 2024, claiming he was from Tesco Highams Park Superstore. I found it very hard to understand his accent, and obviously, he was from "Global Majority". He told me to arrive at the store by 1400 that coming Saturday. I asked him to send me an email via the application system of Tesco because I was afraid of getting to the wrong store as I had applied to several stores, but he did not. He told me to tell the staff at the customer service counter that I was coming to have an interview with him. I asked how to spell his name and he denied my answer. On that day, I did not arrive at the wrong store and arrived at 1345. However, I kept waiting for at least 45 minutes, and then a staff told me that the guy had left the store at 1400. That was very disrespectful and disgraceful. I passed the right-to-work check online, and the guy who called me did not tell me to bring my British Passport with me for the interview. The other staff who took over his job blamed me that I did not have my passport but only my driving license. After the initial interview, I was brought to the shelves to put the products on the shelves without getting any pay. All the things were silent until mid-January 2025. It was very disrespectful to cheat the candidates to be free workers.
