I was approached by a recruiter agency. After they introduced my profile to the company, they liked and invited me for the first round. That was conducted by an engineer and a product manager. This about my experience and some general technical question. It was followed by a live coding challenge where one of the engineers were present and helped when needed. I passed it, and then I met the CTO, some folks from the team and HR. I took about 2 hrs. Then i was promised that after hearing other candidates, they will make their decision. After 2 weeks, I got the information that they will make their choice soon. Silence. After one more week I reached out to them that they have made an offer to an other candidate who accepted it, so the position has been filled. I don't think that was a fair move, especially why they knew that I am waiting for their response since I had an offer from an other company. An email, a phone call or even a text message don't cost much. And I am not even mentioning that I would have appreciated a detailed feedback after spending almost an entire day for this.
