My experience with Teledyne was professional. After the role was explained to me, I asked many non-scripted questions and follow-ups regarding position motivation, scope, and logistics that took approximately 50% of the time on the initial interview. For perspective, I was a recent PhD graduate and had relevant (but not exact) qualifications for this position. Day 0 – job posted Day 14 – application date Day 26 – email from hiring manager saying she wanted to meet with me Day 32 – phone interview with hiring manager Day 34 – email from HR business partner saying they want to have a formal panel interview and have me present relevant aspects of my thesis Day 41 – completed panel interview Day 48 – email from HR business partner saying they want to fly me out for an on-site interview Day 61 – completed on-site interview Day 70 – received a call and accompanying email concerning an official offer letter Day 74 – I called the hiring manager and HR business partner regarding letter specifics and negotiations Day 81 – received a call and accompanying email concerning an updated official offer letter

Overall it looked like I wasn't qualified to work there, the hiring manager sounded a bit intimidating when I answered the questions. I thought that they wouldn't call me for the second interview but they did.
