I’ve been in Sales 12 plus years and this by far was the worst interview experience I have ever had. The people I met with were ok, but the recruiter was the absolute worst. He never followed up until I emailed him and it would typically be a week later. The entire process took 7 weeks and it starts with a presentation to 2 of their senior SAM’s. The recruiter sent me the instructions and told me that there were no right or wrong answer…well that turned out to be incorrect but I still made it past the presentation. The next 2 interviews were 30 minutes apiece with the Manager and a Training Coordinator….but they were 2 weeks apart. Good luck creating traction and building credibility with a 30 min interview every 2 weeks. I really felt that they were just going through the motion of interviewing a minority candidate. The recruiter was Never Engaged and finally followed up after a week of me asking if there were any additional steps. He responded at 5pm on a Friday afternoon and offered absolutely no feedback as to why or what I could have improved. Below is what he wrote….minority candidates, interview at your own risk. I’m done with this company….. Thank you once again for following up. I was able to connect with the team and after careful consideration, the hiring team has decided to move forward with a candidate who better fits our current business needs. I truly appreciate the time and effort that you put into the interview process and wish you all the best in your future endeavors.
