      Entrevista

      One very positive interview with their corporate recruiter in India and one extremely underwhelming phone "conversation" with their Seattle based account manager who works directly with the telecommunications client I was being presented to. The position required 10 years of experience and the India based recruiter went the extra mile to secure my interest in the role and the rate. I signed the paperwork/contractual right to represent and rate confirmation and awaited next steps. The recruiter was excellent. The account manager call the next day, however, was extremely puzzling. After first attempting to do a mini review of my credentials, I was told that I needed to decrease my rate by 15% and that the client, should they choose to convert me to a full time hire, could never support the rate that her own corporate recruiter already accepted, confirmed with management, and put in writing. I received an email from the account manager after this disappointing bait-and-switch phone call. It offered no apology or corrective action. I was told in that email that the margin on the original rate agreed upon would only be 12%. I don't think I've ever been in a situation where the signatory agreement was later sabotaged by an account rep for the same organization. Needless to say, I would never want to be represented by an organization with such questionable and greedy business practices that attempts to gouge a prospective employee after the ink is dry. When I replied by asking if the account rep asks her clients for 12% rate increases immediately after contracts are signed, I didn't receive a response from her.
