      Me postulé a través de un reclutador. El proceso tomó 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en NWEA (Portland, OR) en ene 2016

      Entrevista

      Phone screen. Code assignment: Create the card game of "War" (which took way longer than an interview assignment should take). Onsite interview with whiteboard tasks and code assignment review. No acknowledgment for good work in assignment, just some pointed "why didn't you do this?" to which I answered with an amended code version I worked on after submission. Development team had an attitude... like I was interviewing at "Microsoft" and wasn't good enough for them (although I've been developing in Java since version 1). Word of advice: DO NOT APPLY if you are OVER 40 YEARS OLD!! There is some serious age discrimination going on here and you can tell by how they communicate with you. I have talked to another candidate who had a similar experience and is considering a class action lawsuit.

      Thank you for your March 5 post regarding your interview experience at NWEA. Clearly, your comments and impressions are concerning to us, and we are conducting due diligence into the situation. Our goal is always to provide the best candidate experience in the interview process. With a median age of 42 in our engineering community, and 45 overall as a company, we are familiar with and highly supportive of the richness of experience that an age-diverse population brings, not only to our software development processes, but to NWEA as a whole.
