I went through the following steps: - Recruiter call – a regular sanity check. - Leadership round – questions about management and leadership, with examples. - System design round – designing a payment system. - Mollie principles round – very similar to the leadership round. I really appreciated that the recruiter was always supportive and answered all my questions, which made the process very pleasant. The most difficult part for me was the system design round, as I had never done this type of interview before. After those rounds, I was supposed to have the final interview with the hiring manager and (potentially) my future manager. Unfortunately, this didn’t happen because the feedback from the system design round wasn’t great.

It was a nice experience for me. The recruiter was fantastic and was in constant touch through the process. She even guided me about how to be prepared for the rounds. I was failed because of Coding Review round. I have an experience of 17 years and have been a manager for 6 years, so I was a bit distant from coding. I still do PR reviews and fix P3 bugs to stay in touch but that is not my strongest suite that I bring to the table. So, it was a bit weird for me to get evaluated in an interview environment. But I guess the requirement was like that, which makes it fair.
