Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 4 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Marvell Technology en dic 2010

      Entrevista

Talked to the hiring manager and HR on 1:1 basis but the other interviewers were attended in "couples", totaling 9 people in 5 hours. The "couples" mostly consisted of engineering design managers, which were nice people. At many points, I got the feeling that they were interested in the technical details of my current and previous projects more than my professional skills and experiences. I even got a direct question about business plans, which I did not answer. In the most interesting part of the interview, the couple consisted of a manager and a software engineer. The engineer was very rude and asked many questions about the wireless protocols and C coding. His questions always contained an element of sarcasm, as in "have you ever heard of something called a semaphore?". How about some respect for someone who spent 20+ years in real-time embedded software development? He was pathetically unable to distinguish syntax from semantics, and tried to drag me in an argument. When he labeled one of my answers as "wrong", I asked back what the correct answer was and he responded "OK, I will explain so that you can learn". What makes it even more laughable was that his answer was nowhere near right, but not only I did not want to start an argument with him, also I did not want to make him look bad in front of his manager (the other interviewer). I noticed that the manager was trying to cut this guy to ask her questions. Eventually, I ignored the engineer by directly looking at the manager and answering her questions. He kept on speaking all by himself for a while and then shut up. The content and quality of this part of the interview was very unexpected for the position. Frankly, that guy's attitude made me not want to be a part of such a team.
