Formulaic and a bit bland. First screening interview with the HR person was pleasant and personable but the second and third rounds feel so structured and lacked personality. Second interview really put me off with I found a quite undermining tone from one of the interviewers. Third interview required a 1h task that was straight forward and clear but again, with red flags in the second interview I wasn’t really motivated in the final interview.
As long as you answer the questions using the STAR method, you’ll be fine. Would have preferred if the interviews felt less rigid in their approach as their line of “this is not an interview, I’m not testing you” really doesn’t align with the approach, and in my point of view another red flag.
They do give you a load of material and prep suggestions in the run up to interview, including the interview questions. Which of course I think is great. I just don’t think the inclusive approach was applied during interview.
I’ve heard MadeTech is very hit or miss depending who’s on your team, and I guess this is the same when it comes to interviews.
I’ve heard interview stories from other designers saying they felt that the interview process was also undermining.
