Entrevista
I was sent an email to schedule an interview. I arrived at the designated time and place to do the interview to find the store without power. Human resources asked all of the candidates to sit and wait until the power was restored. After an hour power was not restored, so the managers took various people into different locations in the store. I was interviewed between racks of bra's. I was asked a series of questions that I felt were bizarrely Macy's biased, which I didn't think was entirely appropriate for a person who had never trained at their store. For instance I was asked how I would "celebrate" the customers purchase at the end of the transaction. I'm sorry, I don't know what you mean exactly by celebrate? In commissioned sales I would send a notecard thanking the customer for an especially large purchase, or possibly follow up by a phone call to see if they were happy with their purchase but celebrate? I was asked how I would go about opening Macy's charge accounts, and what benefits are offered. The interview was topped with a cherry when the manager told me that they would keep my application on file but unfortunately they had just given the one position available to the girl that interview right before me! Which I was them do. I watched her fill out her paperwork! Amazing. And there were still four people left to do interviews. This was a total waste of time.
Was interviewed for a seasonal position. Was told they have no seasonal positions, once they found out I was a college student. Made no sense to me quickly ended the interview.

The interview process was straightforward and fairly quick. It started with a phone interview from a recruiter or hiring representative who asked general questions about my background, availability, and interest in the role. The tone was professional but conversational, and the interviewer focused on making sure I could handle a fast-paced, customer-facing environment.
I had one interview with the store manager and it lasted for about 45 minutes. The interview was all standard behavioral questions. I was offered the job on the spot.
