Getting the first interview took FOR-EV-ER! It was 6 months from when I put my application in. One day, out of the blue, the head of the plumbing department called me. We set up a time to where I could come to in for an interview. Basically when I showed up I was interviewed by two people. They looked at my application and asked about how long I had been in the trade and what I did at my previous jobs. Then they just told me what a day was like, and what I would be doing... I was no longer interested in the job when they told me the pay... Which was way too low, well below the local market average for a licensed plumber. Granted free education for full time staff is nice, but I need to be able to pay bills, eat, and have some kind of savings without having to work a second job.
