      Entrevista para Product Manager

      29 de sept de 2015
      Empleado anónimo
      Dallas, TX
      Oferta aceptada
      Experiencia positiva
      Entrevista difícil

      Solicitud

Me postulé a través de un reclutador. El proceso tomó 2 semanas. Acudí a una entrevista en Lanyon (Dallas, TX) en ago 2015

      Entrevista

2 phone interviews 2 Sr. Director interviews 1 VP interview There was a big emphasis on culture and the changing that is occurring within the company. I had 2 phone interviews first just for this. Followed by an in-person interview with the director, then a second director and finally the VP. The VP was more concerned about how I fit into the company. The skills and personality test seemed normal, but they mentioned only 20-25% of the people that take it end up passing. They are much more concerned about having the right person instead of the smartest person.

      Entrevista

I applied online - Three days later I received an email stating interest in my profile and asking me to complete an online assessment in order to continue with the next steps. The assessment has two parts, a personality and cognitive portion. The latter is timed, you have 15 minutes to complete a series of 50 questions. I have never had to take this type of assessments, so I googled it up to know more about them. I took a practice test online, and it went well, so I decided to complete the assessment. Unfortunately, the cognitive part didn't go as expected (I answered only 25 questions from the 50), and then read additional interview feedback on Glassdoor, only to find out that they filter candidates with these tests. A week after taking the assessment, I received an email from recruitment stating they decided not to move forward with my profile. It would be good for the company to be straightforward and state you won't be considered if you don't "pass" the tests, or at least have the chance to get a phone interview before taking them. I have participated in recruitment before and honesty is always the best policy. Receiving an email telling me they are interested in my profile and then realizing that my profile is not good anymore after getting some test results and not even talking to me is a bit odd.
