Strong communication at the beginning of the process. I applied to this job in my last month of college before graduating. They set-up a shadow/hands-on interview at a child's house that would have been classified "easy to work with" (No self-injurious behaviors, relatively strong verbal skills) to see how you do. Then, I went to work with a child that was a bit more challenging (less verbally capable, low attention skills) I guess to see how you work with a trickier case. I think this was a really effective way to learn your actual ABA skills. We did an interview at Starbucks to go over resume, previous training, etc.

I guess the most difficult was the in-person shadowing, but that would not be too difficult if you have any experience working with children on the spectrum.

Applied online. Called me in about 3 days. Gave me an interview on the same week. Interview was quick but pleasant. Less than 15min. Received offer and was working for them in less than 2 weeks.

Initial communications were all through email. You will have a brief phone interview that is just going down a list of questions, rather than a conversation then an in-person interview where you realize your resume was not looked at. You do not get to meet with fellow staff that you will end up working with.

I applied online through Craigslist and was called to do a phone interview (30 minutes). After the phone interview came an in person interview. The phone interview was mostly screening, "do you have experience in ___?" "Tell me about a time you did ___." In person interview was more in depth behavioral questions, including "what would you do if _________?" The best experience is to talk about when you worked with kids, or people with disabilities. Offer came the same day as the in person interview.
