How can banks themselves be responsible alone, since the government has given special grants to bank to lend out money in the Agricultural sector which happens to be in the priority sector! If the Bank has to be accused due to the NPA then it might have been the result of poor lending patterns. But at the same time, no bank can turn away a farmer who is looking out for loan. I would like to make further comment on this only after I further introspect the reports which are out in the public thanks to the media of our country.
