Telephonic screening followed by 5 rounds. Problem Solving, Product Thinking, Tech, Biz and Hiring Manager. All except the Biz rounds (the best one IMO) had a similar set of questions though, with app teardowns and product lifecycle and think through questions. Quite rigorous and very well structured. No questions related to past experience or the domain.
I cleared all rounds and got to the hiring manager round (right before the HR round). Again got a similar set of questions. The difference this time was that the interviewer was quite rude (yawning during the call, seemed to have made up his mind not to make an offer BEFORE the call). He asked me to wrap up my intro in 30 seconds as he 'did not have time for all that' and then when I started on the first question (literally first sentence where I was framing the problem and asking for his opinion), he said. 'you don't need to make assumptions on the problem, just ask me valid questions'. In the app tear through question, I'd picked 5 apps I use daily out of which he asked me to work on improving Google Maps. I gave it a shot and he smirked and said, 'you picked the wrong product, how you're thinking is not how it works, I've worked on maps for X years'.
Didn't get an offer, would not have accepted even if I had. The last round spoiled the experience. Kudos to the Recruiter though for excellent follow ups.
