They are really bad at determining good talent and bad. They hire people that are dial monkeys with no knack for building relationships. It must be the new manager in the Midwest, but they hired some undeserving people. The phone interview was pretty basic, just added some questions about whether or not you're a "hunter". However, as bad as a few are, they have really hit the jackpot with some people here.....they know what they're doing. They just have bad managmement leadership at the office level.
I think in this case, the manager is just not smart to recognize good talent and bad. Great Company, bad managers. The Directors and C-Level guys know what they're doing, however. The CEO is a genius. The marketing person (1 man operation) is a joke, which is why know one knows about Cogent (yet) in the general public.

Spoke with a recruiter to learn more about the position. They did not seem to know my background, spoke in generalities about the company and position, and had a very unprofessional demeanor. It did not feel like this recruiter took their listing or this conversation seriously. I feel like the interview was an entire waste of my time and it became obvious very quickly why this company has the reviews that it does.

not much of an interview process. honestly just a conversation about what kind of sales you have done. how you’ve gotten your clients in the past and what data bases you got those leads from

Met with the hiring manager over Zoom. Lasted about 40 minutes. It was all basic interview questions. A lot of questions about how good am I at prospecting. Quick response from the hiring team after the interview.
