Initial screening with recruiter went well. Follow up interview went well and the conversation was in depth and exciting. The impression was that there was extreme interest in pursing the entire interview process based on my background and experience.
The next step was the take home assessment - THE RECENT REVIEWS ARE SPOT ON HERE. The assessment states it should only take a few hours, however it will take 15-20 if you want to feel confident about the work you submit. And having spent my entire career in this field, I felt really good about the work I completed.
After submitting the assessment, a few days later I received a generic email that they were no longer interested (as many other reviews state). How can you require candidates to complete a project and not have the courtesy to allow them to explain their thought process, how they came to the conclusion, assumptions, risks, etc?
WARNING TO ALL - if you are at the take-home assessment stage, do not commit unless they commit to the review session. It's apparent that this is an easy way for them to collect ideas on the real-world scenario they provide you with (something that is currently in a mvp-state that they are looking to pour resources into). They don't value candidates' time, so be protective over yours.
Also, don't expect for them to provide any feedback related to their decision. Was it the interview? the experience? the resume? the project deliverables? the prototype? The world may never know, and neither will you.

Awkward and surface level. The interviewer clearly did not have much context of the position and led the conversation with off topic questions. She was very friendly, but it was not a very productive interview. That all being said I am doing this just to use Glassdoor right now and wish them the best.
