Regional Recruiter Job was posted on LinkedIn by the Recruiting Manager. I applied. Recruiting Manager then messaged me twice (email and LinkedIn messenger) about filling out a questionnaire. Was going to ignored it due to a gut feeling, hence her messaging me twice. But I end up submitting it. RM sets up a phone screening, liked what she heard from the screening, then set me up with an in person interview with the operations leaders and the HR Manager. The interview, I thought, went well. It was very conversational and everyone had good vibes about them. They were quite personable and the environment was inclusive. At the end of the interview, the HR Manager gave me her business card for me to utilize if I had any questions or concerns. I thought that was a good sign, but it wasn’t. After the interview, I emailed the recruiter (as asked) to tell her how my interview went. Silence. Fast forward to the day they were supposed to make a decision, I emailed her again. Silence. I ended up emailing the HR Manager as well, a couple of days later. Still Silence. The recruiter eventually responded (once I sent her a LinkedIn message) saying I didn’t get the job. Oh well. They missed out on a great employee that all my past employers can vouch for. Their loss. If I could make one recommendation- please do not express that communication is open when it’s not. No need to give out business cards for candidates to utilize or ask for interview feedback, when you’re going to go ghost once a candidate reach out or respond.
