Video call with two managers, however from the moment the call started I could tell one of the two (the line manager of the role being advertised) had zero interest. Looking around the room, showing no sign of even listening to the conversation, never mind having any input. Just got the impression that they couldn’t be bothered from the get go - very off putting.
This was from the second the call started so wasn’t a response to poor interview performance from my side, and even if it was, it would still be lacking basic manners and professional courtesy.
The interview itself was basically a list of questions not much personalisation or conversation . I worked previously doing the same role as the one I interviewed for, for a competitor - I did think it was a red flag that the interviewers had no clue who my ex employer was considering they’re in the marketing department, and therefore should be aware of other companies in the same market as them you would hope …
Never heard a peep from brightHR since, and their external recruiter didn't get in touch following the interview either. Looking at other reviews it seems like it’s common for BrightHR to ghost
It speaks volumes about them and the lack of respect for other people’s time, and tallies up with the employee reviews here - wouldn’t look twice now.
As a brand in the HR space, it would be worth them noting that their employer brand is crucial, particularly now, and a big part of that is respecting candidates. Remember… people in the industry talk, and Glassdoor reviews are getting more important all the time.
