Application consists of four stages: online application via Bloomberg Website, phone interview (approximately 15 min), shadowing and first on site interview (interviewers were 2 team leaders from the Analytics departnment), final interview with a manger from the department. Phone interview was very basic (Why Bloomberg?, Tests knowledge of financial markets, summarise a recent news story). First in-house interview lasted an hour. It included the typical behavioural questions, role play focusing on both sales and troubleshooting skills, explain what bonds, yields, futures etc. are. Final interview was similar to the previous round but more in-depth. Motivations for starting a career in finance, Bloomberg, knowledge of competitors, how do you follow news and summarise an interesting news story relating to financial markets.

6 month interview cycle so it takes a while to actually talk to managers. The trader was not the nicest and would laugh after interviews. Overall a really long process
