    Ventajas

    • great health benefits • normal hours; good work-life balance • good work from home perspective (post-2020) • looks good on your resume (but no longer than about 5 years) • some flexibility to move around the company (assuming your boss isn’t “talent hoarding” — see Cons)

    Desventajas

    • Easily the most consensus driven company I have ever worked for. But this means that anyone can, for almost any edge-case reason) put a stop to your initiative. One or two people complaining loudly will kill ideas even if their perspective is unreasonable. • There is a deep and broad fear of technology and user-centric design. Business processes that are decades old always win over an employee need. • Deep and broad fear of change. So many people have been in their roles for so long that they are married to their old/current ways of doing business. • Talent Hoarding. This is widely done and accepted as the norm. Your boss can literally intervene and stop you from getting promoted into a different department. It’s happens all the time and is a key reason why people leave. • Lack of industry respect after a while. That is, if you are here longer than about 5 years outside companies will look at you like damaged goods. They assume you can only do things the Disney Way. • Constant Re-orgs. I’ve been here 10 years and have experienced more than 20 reorganizations. It’s not strategic, it’s just fickle.
