Me postulé en línea. El proceso tomó 1 semana. Acudí a una entrevista en the LEGO Group

      Entrevista

I applied online for a position of a 10 hour permanent Sales Advisor. I received a phone call about a week later asking me if I was interested in coming in for an interview. I accepted and I went in for the interview a couple of days later. I came in 10 minutes early and was seen about 15 minutes later. The Supervisor took me in and I was greeted by the Store Manager. The Supervisor stayed during the interview to take notes. The manager was very welcoming and made me feel at ease. He explained what the process of the interview would be and that I was able to ask questions if I needed to, which was very helpful. He began by asking me what I knew about the Lego company (look on their website, loads of information which I used and he seemed impressed with. I mentioned that they are the third biggest toy company in the world). He then moved onto questions about myself, asking me to describe myself, what I did at university, why I wanted to work for Lego, and why I would be suited to the role. Let them know that you are a child at heart and you love Lego, you have knowledge of the different types of merchandise they sell, such as the Lord of The Rings, Marvel Heroes and their girls range of Lego. State that you want to work there as it caters for a wide variety of customers and you want to be part of such a successful company. The most difficult part of the interview was when the manager asked me why I had applied to a Sales Advisor role when I was currently a Supervisor. I stated that this job was more convenient for me due to university hours, location and also I preferred the sales advisor role as it was more customer-oriented. This kind of threw me a bit though as I didn't think it would be a big problem that I had applied. Anyway the interview went very well, he even said so afterwards, and told me that he would be letting me know within a couple of days time. He called me two days later and said that it was bad news and that I did not get the job. However he did tell me that he promised me feedback on the interview and that I did extremely well and that the only reason I didn't get the job was because I was 'over-qualified' and he suggested I should play down my experience as a Supervisor when applying for smaller roles. He also asked me if I would be interested in a temporary position for the Christmas season and that he would call me if I was. I agreed to this although I'm not interested in a temp position. Anyway I was a little irritated as I had done well in the interview, and obviously suited the role but they would have preferred I had less experience - I was a little disheartened but nonetheless it is experience! The manager was very kind to have given me feedback.
