Would you say the iPhone is a competitor to the Blackberry
6 respuestas↳
It just goes to show how history teaches lessons - That was a good answer at the time and it was the right answer because that's what RIM wanted the truth to be. Not surprised they offered you the job. Menos

Thanks Ooops! It was clear they were nervous, and i have to say the opportunity is still there for RIM, but their competitors are not iPhone, its Samsung, HTC, Windows8. Those are the real challenges for them. If you have a LinkedIn profile let me know Menos

Yes and no, both are smartphones and provide similar functionality but the Blackberry is more productivity driven while the IPhone is more "user friendly" and entertainment driven. They do compete but they appeal to different segments of the market. Blackberry for the corporate/ government sectors and IPhone for the domestic. Menos

Through questions like this, interviewers are mostly trying to test your skillset (and its relevance to the role) as robustly as possible, so be prepared for multiple offshoots and followups. It could be a useful exercise to do mocks with friends or colleagues in Google to get a real sense of what the interview is actually like. Alternatively Prepfully has a ton of Google Interaction Designer experts who provide mock interviews for a pretty reasonable amount. prepfully.com/practice-interviews Menos

Hi, as a Google employee, I’ve created an interview prep guide that got many people into Google, based on my and my friends' interview experiences. You can find it here: interviewjoy.com/services/interview-process-details/google-manager-interview-questions-answers/ (please do not forget to check the reviews on that page to read my customers' comments). Good luck! Menos

Would you still be interested in this position, even if growth in the company would be limited?
1 respuestas↳
This was in response to my questions about career path and advancing beyond the position the interview was for. Obviously, I felt this position was a bit of a step down for me and was mainly interested in growth opportunities. They said the previous policy of allowing people to move around is basically no longer. Menos

I am not a developer, but I have had coding experience. I studied Java, Python, and to a lesser degree HTML and CSS and JavaScript. The coding experience I had allows me to understand code and easily make minor modifications if needed. Menos

Tell me about a time when you faced a difficult situation at work. What did you do to overcome it?

Study your typical behavioral interview questions (difficult time at work, an idea that was not received well, a time when you had to demonstrate leadership, etc). You'll be asked 3-5 standard behavioral questions per 1-on-1 interview session. Spend some time before interviewing looking at these types of questions and reviewing what scenarios from current and past positions/school you can use as examples. Intuit places heavy value on leadership at all levels and on working with and listening to customers...make sure you have some examples to show you've done those things and are willing to continue. When working at Diipo Collaboration, the founder, who was also a friend of mine constantly undermined my ideas. He thought I lacked experience and always dismissed my ideas without even considering that they could indeed improve the product he wanted to create. At first, I thought well ok, there is probably something i can improve, so i constantly went back to my designs and looked at what I could change to make the UI even more intuitive for our target audience. Finally I told myself I need to stand up for what I believe in. I went through the current UI and pointed out all the problems he had within it throughly. Then showed how I could correct these issues with the UI I had designed. Menos

They seem to be chasing a unicorn and are being very selective (and a bit pretentious) Menos
