interview process consisted of discussions with the recruiter, then the hiring manager, then another Technical Architect, then a panel where I role-played a presentation of an expanded feature to an existing client. I presume that the latter was what they intend for the role to encompass.

  • The role-playing exercise consisted of a panel who were acting as a customer. My role as an Architect was to present them with options for integrating the ZD products with their existing tools and walk them through selection.

Talked to recruiter for the company and then the hiring manager. Both people seemed incredibly burnt out. The recruiter talked about the typical stuff a recruiter on the first contact to a company. There was no sales pitch on why to work for the company which is a bit unusual. It was purely factual. The hiring manager talked about the position. The back and forth was on the higher end of awkward as far as interviews go. There was absolutely no emotion. I suspect before even entering the interview, the decision was already made not to hire me.

I met 5 people through the interview process; it was very well structured and the recruiter did a great job following up with me after every interviews. I thought each interviewer was very approachable, easy to talk to, and I appreciated the direct questions they asked me to get to understand my experience as well as my motivation.

HR phone screen for less than ten minutes, mostly conversational and answering questions, then a series of four interviews, 30 minutes each, with sales development managers. Very behavioral not technical and everyone was pretty nice. Overall good experience

I applied for *two* positions online because ZD seemed to have an open progressive atmosphere, because of the suite of products which have a welcoming UX and is in general user-friendly, because they are open about reporting diversity, and because I have sentimental personal reasons for liking the Copenhagen roots. I currently have a job at a very conservative tech company without much diversity, so I wanted to find something new and better where I could feel comfortable to fully contribute, as a part indigenous-Mexican woman. Though I get contacted by interested recruiters every week from other companies, I have been looking for the right fit on my own terms instead. So with that background out of the way, I applied for both the Associate Premier Support Engineer and the Technical Support Engineer, both with a location of Wisconsin, but with the option for remote work as well. I heard back within a a few short days from a "senior recruiter" when they left a voice message. I responded with both phone and voice message and never heard back on the email which was frustrating, but the person kept trying to call back without asking me what times were convenient for me, so they would call back while I was very busy. We went through this for awhile as it seems they preferred unscheduled phone calls, so I did my best to accommodate since I know some people have their preference this way. I spoke with the ZD recruiter and gave some basic information about my current role and how I have been a point of escalation before etc. She said if the hiring manager is interested he will be contacting me. At this point I didn't hear back, so I contact the recruiter again by phone and email, just to be safe. After even more back and forth with unscheduled phone calls, I was told that *one of the positions was already filled* but the other one was still open and the recruiter was interested so I should hear back. (During this phone conversation I asked for clarification on which position was still open, but the recruiter I guess did not hear me and ended the call quickly and just sounded busy in general.) Well, I never heard back and I had just about given up, but then curiosity got the best of me. I wrote the recruiter again and this time received an automated email that the recruiter was no longer with the company. So I emailed the forwarding email to inquire and they said that the position had been filled (which position who is to say?) and that I could apply for other positions. Again, still curious, I went to check the open positions and one of the positions is till very much listed, the Technical Support Engineer position, so they were miscommunicating with me once again or maybe just don't want to take the time to check. Yes, they were friendly and did apologize, but also continued to show lack of care, communication, and organization. I try to be understanding, but the whole process was insulting and a huge waste of time and I would caution anyone to submit their application and be toyed with as they have with me and other applicants. I can only guess that this is not an isolated incident, but a systemic problem with how ZD treats prospective team members.

The recruiter was lovely in the beginning. The interviews were professionally set up, managers and everything seemed rosy. Suddenly, there was silence. I'd been ghosted. Nothing from the recruiter and emails went unanswered. Seems like they want to interview candidates but only hire from Salesforce.
