I was contacted by the recruiter and then set up a call with the Engineering Manager, the interview went pretty well, we spoke about the technology I work on and how the company works on the same tech stack. After that I was sent an email to take up the codility test, the test was very verbose but it was easy to break down and work in pieces. I was able to get it done in 2 hours and made sure my code was readable and clear. It ran on the test cases they provided and also on the edge cases that I had written.
When I did finally submitted this, I was shown a score of 25% with no other indication on what passed and what failed. Now I haven't heard back from the recruiter in 10 days. The enthusiasm that the recruiter had when they send you an email to set up an interview, wont be found when they need to send you back one update on an accept or a reject. And overall the codility test is a really poor way of accessing a candidate's skill level since I have taken a few codility tests and their test cases are all pretty varied and unless the problem is too simple it is pretty hard to get a 100% on their correctness.
