Me postulé en línea. Acudí a una entrevista en Uncommon Goods (Brooklyn, NY) en oct 2015

      Entrevista

The pre-interview process was pretty simple. I applied on Monday online and got a response on Tuesday. The recruiter called me and left a message for me on my cell phone and sent me an email. I didn't have my cell on me, so I sent him an email about an hour later. He matched me to a job other than what I had originally applied for but it was okay because I liked the position he suggested better anyway. He was willing to schedule me for an interview the next day but since I like a little time to prepare so instead I opted for Thursday. Thankfully so because I had a family emergency that happened on Wednesday. It is really difficult getting to this place. The area that this place is located in is very deserted and industrial. Once you get to the place, its hard to determine which building your going to because they are not labeled. Secondly depending on which direction you are coming from, both buildings can look like they are behind the bank, in the directions they give you. My interview was for 11:00am, in which I didnt get there until 11:07 because once I got to the wrong building the security guard mislead me in the first building and then I had some wait time while waiting for the recruiter to get me at the check in location and etc. Here's for the actual interview itself. The interview itself was 2 plus hours. First they have you fill in an availability form, which I didnt get the chance to do at first because I was late, so I went straight to the computer room with the others. We had to do a computer literacy test. The first was to type up a story that would track your words per minute. In which the guy could barely explain to me. Secondly, I ended up getting a computer with a good 3/4th of the keys were rubbed away. Why force people to take a wpm test and not have the proper equipment present to accurately measure their skills? After that you do a 15 minute test where you respond to a "customer email," as well as looking up information and demonstrating your computer knowledge. So we then go back to the original room and have the interview. Be prepared to take an actual group interview, which for the most part was awkward and nerve racking. Most of the questions were unrelated to customer service. After answering a good 5 questions one by one, comes the part where you get to ask questions. Then they tell you that you will be getting an answer back from them in no more than 3 days. Another thing about the interview was that most people were under dressed.
