So I applied online to a new store that was opening, I would defiantly recommend to apply to a new store OR apply during the holiday's because the job applications go through a process and if the hiring manager doesn't open it within a 2 week it will go through the database and will probably not even get seen. So when you apply make sure it's for a new store or a store that's defiantly hiring! After 3 days from applying online I got a phone call, and invitied me to a near by Ulta since the location I applied for was still being built. Once I got there they had me roaming the store till the manager was free. The interview was simple, and the manager was friendly. They want you to want to sell more than anything, costumer service is a MUST! Artistry isn't that important but bring a portfolio will give your brownie points. Even if you work for a certain brand within Ulta they want you to cater for the customers needs! The interview was more of a conversation than a formal interview easy going and the manager guided me through it.
